Guided visit of Tours

Under the guidance of a guide, the Tours Loire Valley Tourist Office and the city of Tours offer you a general tour of Tours.

The city of Tours was founded in the 1st century on the left bank of the Loire. In the Middle Ages, two distinct sectors developed: the Cité around the unsinkable mound of the cathedral district and the Châteauneuf sector, also known as Old Tours, around a huge collegiate church dedicated to Saint Martin. Royal capital from 1440 to 1520, Tours saw the rebuilding of almost all its urban dwellings at the end of the Middle Ages and the beginning of the Renaissance. From this flourishing period, the city inherited a homogeneous group of old houses and religious buildings that you will discover during this visit.

Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of the tour.
Free for children under 12 (contact us: 02 47 70 37 37)

Reservations must be made in advance at the Tourist Office or online. No sales on site.
